What is the difference between cast mill ball and forged mill ball
Ningguo Zhicheng Machine Manufacturing Co.,Ltd Professionally produce cast iron ball casting line, cast iron ball heat treatment furnace ,cast iron ball mold, cast mill ball for 21 years.
High chromium cast iron ball:
High cast iron ball with chromium content over 10% and carbon content between 1.8% and 3.2% are called high chromium cast iron ball. The Chinese national standard requires that the hardness of high chromium cast iron ball must be over 58HRC and the impact value must be over 3.0J/㎝2.And high chromium cast iron ball should quenching and tempering.Oil quenching and wind quenching are widely used.If the hardness is lower 54HRC,it means that these high cast iron balls are not quenched.
Middle chromium cast iron ball
Middle cast iron ball with chromium content between 3.0% and 7.0% and carbon content between 1.8% and 3.2% are called middle chromium cast iron ball. The Chinese national standard requires that the hardness of high chromium cast iron ball must be over 47HRC and the impact value must be over 2.0J/㎝2.To guarantee the quality of middle cast iron ball,it should be tempered..If the surface of cast iron ball is dark red, it indicates that the cast iron ball has been tempered at high temperature. If the surface of the cast iron ball is still metallic, it indicates that the cast iron ball has not been tempered at high temperature.
Low Chromium cast iron ball
Low Chromium cast iron ball with chromium content between 0.5% and 2.5% and carbon content between 1.8% and 3.2% are called low chromium cast iron ball. The Chinese national standard requires that the hardness of high chromium cast iron ball must be over 45HRC and the impact value must be over 1.5J/㎝2.To guarantee the quality of middle cast iron ball,it also should be tempered. If the surface of cast iron ball is dark red, it indicates that the cast iron ball has been tempered at high temperature. If the surface of the cast iron ball is still metallic, it indicates that the cast iron ball has not been tempered at high temperature.
Forged grinding ball
The chromium content ranges from 0.1% to 0.5% (in generally, forged grinding balls do not contain chromium), the carbon content is less than 1.0% and the forged grinding balls are made by high temperature forging. Although the surface hardness (HRC) of some forged steel balls can reach more than 56 (hardening layer is only about 15mm),the hardness of the center of forged steel balls is generally only 30 degrees because of poor hardenability. In normal condition, forged grinding ball is quenched by water.
